Week 14 review

Posted: December 15, 2010 in Fantasy Football

For some this was week one of the playoffs, for others, it was the last week of the regular season.

We all know Brett Favre sat out. We all know Aaron Rodgers is seeing stars. He is listed as questionable. I’m betting, with the Packers already behind the Bears, that he plays. But that’s just a hunch.

Matt Schaub, Alex Smith, and Kerry Collins threw three touchdowns. I don’t think Smith or Collins will do that again the rest of the season. Peyton Manning finally showed up again with 319 yards, two scores, and ZERO interceptions. John Skelton wasn’t good, but avoided costly turnovers in a blowout of Denver. Matt Hasselbeck and Carson Palmer combined to throw seven interceptions in two ugly losses.

Darren McFaddenb had over 200 yards and three touchdowns. Michael Turner had over 100 rushing and three rushing touchdowns. Tim Hightower was a pleasant surprise with 148 yards and two touchdowns. Brian Westbrook had 110 overall yards and a score. Mike Tolbert and Ryan Mathews each got 16 carries and a touchdown. Cedric Benson was back to normal with just 65 yards. and Adrian Peterson ended some seasons with his 26 yards on 14 carries.

Deshean Jackson was simply unstoppable with 210 yards on just four catches. Andre Johnson grabbed 140 yards and two scores, reminding everyone why they took him as the first WR off the board. Pierre Garcon continued his confusingly inconsistent season with 93 yards and two scores. Derrek Mason, Malcom Floyd, and Marques Colston also snatched two touchdowns a piece. Miles Austin only had 22 yards receiving despite the injury to Dez Bryant and Steve Johnson had just 42 yards.

Antonio Gates was another late scratch. Jason Witten and Bo Scaife each got two scores. Owen Daniels had 91 yards in his return from injury.

It was a bit of a fluky weekend, but if you are still paying attention, you are probably still alive, so congrats to you and keep sending in your questions.
