I know what you’re thinking but……

Brandon Wood will make his first start for the Pirates since being claimed off waivers from the Angels. The “change of scenery” thing might sound cliche, but IF he wrangles some value out of this second chance, it would be magnified by his eligibility at the two shallowest spots in baseball, shortstop and third base.

Sometimes you have to make a gut call, and I’m sticking with Francisco Liriano.

Important thing to keep in mind, those of you with struggling (or devistatingly injured) teams, you never need to trade for the sake of trading. Even at 0-3, like my 18-team keeper team is, if I can’t get good value, I’m staying put.

Ike Davis is quietly having a very productive year. Don’t sell now if you own him.

Jordan Zimmerman is a nice buy-low candidate, despite a decent start. He has massive strikeout potential and has looked good without notching many Ks so far, so when he starts striking people out, there is top-40 potential.

It sounds crazy, but owners are getting nervous about Albert Pujols or Hanley Ramirez. Go get them for anything less than draft-day value. Same goes for Carl Crawford and Adam Dunn.

Jed Lowrie has it in him to be a top FIVE fantasy shortstop. I know what you’re thinking, but I’m not kidding. He will score runs in that lineup, hit for some power, a good average.

I wouldn’t mind selling Mike Stanton at draft day value right now. Sell Dexter Fowler high. His BABIP tells me his average has a long way to fall, and sooner than later.

Andres Torres should be back in the next few days, and he is severely underrated in fantasy.

I wouldn’t mind someone targeting Jair Jurrjens in a trade. He looks good and if he’s unowned, he should be.

I’m buying Justin Masterson and Travis Hafner. I watched several Indians games in the last couple weeks, and they both pass the eyeball test. However, Hafner won’t bat .348 and Masterson won’t win 20 games, so if you got someone willing to trade you a proven quality player for one of them, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

Sell high on Daisuke Matsuzaka and John Lackey if anyone is buying.

Logan Morrison should be back close to the 15-day minimum and belongs right back in lineups. He is a budding star.

New positional rankings will be coming soon.
