Some Tuesday notes

Posted: April 27, 2011 in Fantasy Baseball

I’m officially in on Justin Masterson. He has now won each of his first five starts with a solid outing. He struck out seven in 6.2 innings, allowing three earned runs.

Sergio Santos recorded his second perfect save is as many days, coming in to get the final two outs. Matt Thornton came in to open the ninth, allowed the first batter he faced to reach base and he was out.

Adam Lind was hitting under .240 with just one home run, but he jacked two today.

Francisco Liriano‘s start was moved back due to the game being postponed. That means he will not get a second start this week, for those of you in head-to-head leagues.

Mike Leake… everyone keeps saying he will get benched when Johnny Cueto and Homer Bailey are healthy, but he now has four quality starts in five attempts. He also has 26 strikeouts in 30.2 innings.

Jerry Sands had yet another double today. The 23-year-old has eight hits in his nine games and five of them are doubles.
