Walking the Walk- Waiver Wire Wins

Posted: May 14, 2011 in Fantasy Baseball

Your season isn’t over with a bad draft. Your season isn’t over with a slew of injuries. Your season isn’t over with a guy like Francisco Liriano playing severely below expectations. Here are some guys on my 18-team keeper that I got off the waiver wire. If I can find them on waivers in an 18-team league, you can find them in your 10 or 12 team leagues.

Added Travis Hafner on March 31… He is now batting .340 with 5 HR, 16 RBI and 14 R

Added Justin Masterson on April 5… He is now 5-1, 2.73 ERA, 1.27 WHIP.

Added Sergio Santos on April 14… He is now 2-0 with 4 saves, 0.00 ERA and 0.83 WHIP.

Added Doug Fister on April 30… He is now carrying a 3.22 ERA and 1.33 WHIP.

Added Tyson Ross on May 1… As a starter, going into today he was 1-1 with a 2.28 ERA, 1.268 WHIP. He is currently through five shutout innings with six Ks and still in the game for Oakland.

And I’ll add that with the #403 and #412 overall picks in the last two rounds of the draft, I got Jordan Walden and Jed Lowrie.

The owner that does his research wins. There is value beyond the first round, and even beyond the last round of the draft.
