Some things to notice…

Alex Rios, perhaps the streakiest hitter in baseball, is on the upswing, and you’re going to want him. Three multi-hit games in a row and seven-game hit streak overall.

JJ Hardy has nine home runs and is batting over .300. He has a history of 20+ home run power, so dont write it off.

Justin Verlander might run away and hide with the AL Cy Young Award. He is my top-ranked American League starting pitcher, and its not all that close.

Justin Masterson pitched 6.2 innings with zero earned runs and lost today. That proves once again you can’t chase wins. Masterson is a legitimately useful starting pitcher and a must-own in anything over 12 team leagues.

Adam Dunn and Brian Matusz are shaking my faith in them.

If you can buy low on Albert Pujols, do it. I think he will be a monster in the last two months of the season.

Adam Lind can go .300 with 30 HR.

The Blue Jays are moving Jose Bautista back to third base. If its true, when he gets that eligibility, he is THE most valuable fantasy player in my opinion.

Mart Teixeira is batting under .250. If you can get him at discount to draft-day value, laugh all the way to the bank.

I’m trading Lance Berkman if you can find an owner who thinks he will keep this up.

Jose Reyes, Bautista, Matt Kemp, Verlander… I never say a guy is untouchable, but these guys would be pretty close if I owned them.

Jordan Zimmerman might be a top-30 pitcher through July, and mid-August and then get shut down before September. Might not be a bad time to trade him, if you can get good value. But expect him to continue to be THIS good as long as he is pitching.

  1. I’m working a deal involving Zimmermann, I’ve got him right now and I want to use him as trade bait.
